Circa Waves and Hannah Wants to play Trinity Ball as Ents reveal lineup

They join the previously announced Jax Jones, Tom Walker and Versatile on the lineup — along with the long-expected headliner, George Ezra

Hannah Wants, Friend Within and indie-rockers Circa Waves were among the acts unveiled tonight by Trinity Ents to play Trinity Ball on Friday April 6.

They join the previously announced Jax Jones, Tom Walker and Versatile on the lineup — along with the long-expected headliner, George Ezra.

Electro-soul musician Sinead Harnett, Hak Baker and Tom Walker make up the singer-songwriter contingent of the lineup for those who like a more tranquil sonic experience.This is not to mention headliner George Ezra: ‘Staying at Tamara’s’, his sophomore record will be released this March and he is sure to play a lot of new material from the album.

House acts Hannah Wants and Denis Sulta will hopefully deliver some high-energy sets. Wants is also playing Coachella this year and previously had a residency on BBC Radio 1.

Dublin-based Grunge band Fangclub, Wild Youth and Circa Waves bring guitar music to the ball. Circa Waves are also playing the Isle of Wight festival this summer while Wild Youth are playing Sea Sessions in June.

Trinitones, Trinity Orchestra and DUDJ round out the lineup with College representation.

Acts were revealed on the Trinity Ents facebook page livestream with the poster gradually updated until the full-lineup was revealed.

The winner of Trinity Ents’ Battle of the Bands competition will also play the ball.

In a statement  to Trinity News, Trinity Ents officer Jonah Craig said that Ents feel the lineup is “both current and diverse”. Commenting on George Ezra headlining Craig said: “We’ve gone with a more current headliner than the previous two years which is a lovely change in scene for The Ball!”.

Craig said he is “very excited” for Denis Sulta. “This DJ is very tipped to becoming someone massive in the future”.

Tickets will go on sale for €87 this Wednesday, 21 February. They will be available online as well as the SU shop. Last year tickets sold out in five hours.
