Cricket Pitch to close until late April

The announcement was made by Estates and Facilities today

College Park, the grounds of Trinity’s Cricket Pitch, is set to close from Monday, March 11 to the Sunday, April 21.

The announcement was made by Estates and Facilities today in an email to staff and students. Administrative Services Manager Audrey O’Hare explained that the closure was in order to facilitate “essential spring/summer maintenance being carried out”.

This will prevent students from accessing Trinity’s cricket pitch for the coming month, which tends to be well-populated by students as the weather becomes warmer. A map was included alongside the announcement encompassing a large area of the pitch.

The pitch was closed last June for four weeks for maintenance works.

The park plays host to various Trinity based sports teams, namely Dublin University Association Football Club (DUAFC), and Dublin University Cricket Club (DUCC).

Trinity’s third annual concert Summer Series is set to take place in College Park during the summer, with acts including Vampire Weekend, Janelle Monáe, and Foals.
