David Flood elected next TCDSU Ents Officer

Flood received 66% of the vote, while Matt Dundon received 26%

Flood secured 2,361 votes, or 66%, of the race, while Dundon received 936 votes or 26%. The re-open nominations (RON) option received 265 votes or 7.5% of the race. Total votes cast totalled 3,690 with 128 number of spoiled votes leaving a valid 3,362 number of votes.

Flood ran his campaign with an emphasis on large-scale events including an international Trinity Abroad trip, a World Culture Day and a LGBTQ+ pride event during Rainbow Week. He wants to improve Ents collaboration and accessibility, has proposed a disability viewing platform at Trinity Ball and has promised to crowdsource the Trinity Ball lineup.

Flood’s prior experience includes his current captaincy of the Surf Club and class rep position.

Flood’s victory was predicted in Trinity News’ poll released this Monday, wherein he secured 64.5% of the vote, while Dundon polled only 28.5% of the 670-person poll.

Speaking to Trinity News Flood said: “The last two weeks have been a brilliant experience”, and that “The campaign as a whole was really really fun, having so many people involved”.
