Aiming to show how fun and accessible research in all disciplines can be, a number of events will be taking place across campus tomorrow evening as part of Discover Research Dublin.

Researchers and volunteers will be on hand with live demonstrations, talks, and behind-the-scenes tours of some of Trinity’s research venues, including the new Trinity Biomedical Sciences Institute on Pearse Street. Visitors will also have the chance to meet and greet with researchers in a range of subjects, in an effort to promote the image of research among the general public, and to break down the perceived barriers that often disrupt people’s interest in the world of academia.

The event is funded by the European Commission under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions which aim to support the development and training of researchers, and is being fronted by Luke O’Neill, Chair of Biochemistry, and Cliona O’Farrelly, Professor of Comparative Immunology, both of Trinity College.

As the event is spread across many venues, with many of the events taking place simultaneously, the Trinity News Science editorial team, along with some of our staff writers, will be live-blogging from the events in order to keep you in the loop.
