€200,000 MBA scholarship for Australian students to study in Trinity launched

The Governor General of Australia announced its launch during his visit to College

The launch of a new scholarship fund for Australian business students in Trinity was announced by the Governor General of Australia, Sir Peter Cosgrove, during his visit to College.

Yesterday, Cosgrove announced the launch of a new partnership between The Ireland Funds Australia and Trinity Business School, which will see €200,000 dedicated to supporting Australian students wishing to enrol on the Trinity Master in Business Administration (MBA) over the next five years.

Sir Cosgrove expressed his satisfaction with the scholarship. “I cannot think of a better investment in our future than supporting our bright young passionate Aussies with an opportunity to live, study and undertake work experience in countries overseas, not least in Trinity College.”

Cosgrove feels it is “particularly fitting that this scholarship focuses on the MBA programme given the business links between our two countries”.

The scholarship will be jointly funded by a new partnership between The Ireland Funds Australia and Trinity Business School. The intention behind the partnership is to explore innovative collaborations on education that will build connections between Australia and Ireland.

Dean of the Trinity Business School, Professor Andrew Burke, said: “The scholarship will help build on the already extensive collaboration between Ireland and Australia by enabling business executives and entrepreneurs from Australia to receive an MBA education from Trinity Business School”, adding that the scholarship is intended to develop  “skilled business leaders with a moral compass who will make a positive impact on business and society.”

The Trinity MBA’s international focus attracts candidates from all over the globe, often with more than fifteen nationalities represented in any given year. “We are very grateful to the Ireland Funds Australia for enabling more business leaders from Australia to enrich this great learning environment even further,” commented Burke.
