Early votes indicate Ascough set to be impeached as UCDSU President

The first votes from the referendum were announced just before 10pm this evening

Early votes are showing that Katie Ascough is set to be impeached from her position as University College Dublin Students’ Union (UCDSU) President. This follows the result of the first three boxes out of eleven. The total votes in favour of impeaching Ascough total 297, with 147 votes against.

The box from the Carysfort building recorded 26 votes in favour of impeaching Ascough, with 10 against. Out of a total poll of 257 in the Veterinary Building, 174 voted yes with 83 voting no. Meanwhile in the Richview and Newstead box, 97 voted yes and 54 voted no.

The total result is expected sometime after 12am tonight.
