Live blog: Communicating science through social media

SM2Science HeaderJoin us here, live from 8pm, as we live blog a panel discussion featuring  Dr. Kevin Mitchell and journalist Maria Delaney, The talk, titled “Life in the Blogosphere – The joys and challenges of communicating science to the public”, has been organised by Trinity’s own GenSoc.

As blogging and social media become even more prevalent as sources of information, scientists need to learn how to use these methods, and others, to communicate their work effectively. This talk is a must-see for up and coming scientists and researchers of all disciplines. Come along to the GMB this evening or follow the discussion here.

Dr. Kevin Mitchell is head of the department of Developmental Neurogenetics in the Smurfit Institute, TCD, and also runs a popular blog, ‘Wiring the Brain‘. Maria Delaney is a journalist, science communicator and TCD genetics graduate. She is also the blogger behind ‘Science Calling‘, Ireland’s 2012 blog of the year.
