Oisin Vince Coulter, current assistant editor of Trinity News, has been elected editor of the paper for the 2016-17 academic year and 63rd volume.
Oisin was previously deputy news editor and currently serves as treasurer on this year’s Trinity Publications committee.
Oisin and current online editor of Trinity News, Dee Courtney, both ran for election for the position at Tuesday night’s AGM.
Turn out at the AGM was highest in recent memory and almost 40 individuals with voting rights cast their vote after hearing candidate speeches and putting questions to them.
Oisin and Dee have both been integral to the operation of the newspaper this year, expanding the news section and staff to increasing our online presence and reach respectively.
As the outgoing editor of Trinity News, I wish Oisin the very best of luck with the position. His tenure will begin sometime in April after the final issue of Trinity News for this year is released.
