Friendly Fires receive 6% of votes in TN poll

An online poll carried-out carried out by Trinity News has found that headline act, Friendly Fires, are among the least popular acts on the line-up.
Indeed, the alternative dance act from the UK who will perform at the ball for the first time this year garnered just 6% of votes on the ‘Who are you most excited to see’ question.
Leading the line-up in terms of excitement is Professor Green who, despite performing last year, was 24% of respondents’ most anticipated act. The Trinity Orchestra came in second place with ...

This weekend rugby teams from all over Europe will clash in the RBS Six Nations. Here Saphora Smith sits down with the tournament’s organiser and one of the most powerful men is sport, John Feehan.
As sports fans across the land will know, as well as some who wished they didn’t, the RBS Six Nations rugby tournament is now well underway. And what a tournament it has been!
Uncle Jamie – A Hairy Issue

Our Agony Uncle Jamie deals with your most intimate issues. This week, as the title suggests, we’re taking a trip down town.
Dear Uncle Jamie,
I have been floundering around this particular problem for some time. Embarrassing as it is, Uncle Jamie, I seek your sage wisdom with regards to pubic social norms – how should I style my nether regions?
I’ve googled and googled and yet am still perplexed by the myriad of different styles, their innumerable variations.
I’m bamboozled by the Brazilian, hopelessly hung-up about the Hollywood – ...

FAQs for D.O’D (frequently asked questions for David O’Doherty)

Its about four o’clock in the afternoon when, half-cut after a pub trip with a visiting Uncle, I arrive at the home of David O’Doherty. The interview had been scheduled for earlier on in the day but my lunch and his trip to Ikea had delayed us.
Normally people off of the telly get angry when you ask to move things around but for O’Doherty (or The DO’D as fans know him) this isn’t the case. “It worked out quite well actually”, he tells me as we walk into ...

Those SU election results in full

The Students Union elections, thank fully, are now over. The votes have been counted and verified and we can now announce the winners.
Before we do, however, one thing is worth noting – this year of aroung just 3600 of the 16,000 or so members of the electorate voted or in other words only about 20%. For many this typifies the mind-numbing dullness of the elections; for others it’s a symptom of wider SU apathy. Either way this is a sad state of affairs. Every cloud, however, does have a ...
