TCDSU Presidential candidate Shane De Ris sanctioned by Electoral Commission

No strikes were issued against De Ris

Trinity College Dublin Students’ Union (TCDSU) Presidential candidate Shane De Ris was sanctioned by the Electoral Commission (EC) for a breach of Schedule 3. The breach is in relation to a campaign poster placed in Trinity Biomedical Sciences Institute (TBSI).

De Ris will be banned from online and on campus campaigning between 2pm and 3pm tomorrow.

Meanwhile, the EC will meet tomorrow to discuss the sexual harassment complaint against Sean Ryan made to the Junior Dean.

Schedule 3 of TCDSU’s Constitution outlines election regulations and dates. Breaches of EC rules usually result in a strike against a candidate, with the candidate removed from the ballot after their third rule break.
