Vampire Weekend to play Trinity Summer Series

The band’s newest album will be released later this year

Vampire Weekend are the latest act to be confirmed for the Trinity Summer Series 2019 line-up, with their concert set to take place on July 1.

The Summer Series concert takes place in the middle of Vampire Weekend’s Father of the Bride tour, which sees the group travelling across Canada and the United States from June to October. Tickets for the concert go on sale this Friday, February 15, at 9am, with prices starting at €49.90.

Vampire Weekend are making their return to Ireland with their new upcoming album Father of the Bride, with singles already released including “Harmony Hall” and “2021”. The band last played to Irish audiences in 2013, when they headlined the Longitude Festival in Dublin.

Since Vampire Weekend formed in 2006, the group has released three critically acclaimed albums. The group won a Grammy for Best Alternative Music Album in 2014 for its third album Modern Vampires of the City, and was nominated in the same category for its second album, Contra, in 2011.

Acts already announced for the 2019 Summer Series include Janelle Monáe on July 3, Paul Weller on July 4, Stereophonics on July 6, and New Order on July 7. 2019 marks the third year of the concert series following its success in 2017 and 2018.
