College closed until 8am amid weather warning

In an email sent to student this evening, College advised students to be alert for updates on further closures

College has announced it will be closed from 5am until 8am amid a status red weather alert as Storm Debi approaches Ireland.

A red weather alert was issued by Met Éireann for Dublin from 5am until 8am on Monday.

It urged students not to travel until the red weather warning expires and to be aware of local weather conditions when travelling.

College also advised students to follow its social media channels for further updates.

Earlier this evening, Met Éireann issued a red wind warning for 14 counties as the potential severity of Storm Debi increases on weather models.

A red weather warning is issued in “rare and very dangerous weather conditions from intense meteorological phenomena”.

Met Éireann has warned of “potential danger to life”, as well as disruptions to transport, power outages and fallen trees.

It has also issued an orange wind warning in 19 counties from 2am until 10am on Monday, as well as a yellow wind and rain warning covering the entire country until 3pm tomorrow.

Primary schools in counties with an orange and red warning have been ordered to remain closed until 10am tomorrow and Bus Éireann confirmed no school buses will run in the morning.
