Overnight guests and approved parties allowed in on-campus accommodation from November 1

College’s on-campus accommodation regulations revised following lobbying from TCDSU

Yesterday, October 28, College announced a revision of their on-campus accommodation regulations.

Overnight guests and approved parties will be allowed in on-campus accommodation from November 1.

During the last academic year 2020-2021, residents were not allowed to have overnight guests or parties and further hygiene inspections of the common areas were introduced. The regulations were first introduced at the beginning of the pandemic in order to curb the spread of Covid-19.

Residents received an email from College yesterday afternoon informing them of the changes.

The revision of the regulations follow lobbying by Trinity College Dublin Students’ Union (TCDSU) concerning the restrictive guest policy for students living on-campus.

On their Instagram page, TCDSU said: “After extensive lobbying by the SU, College have revised their COVID accommodation regulations and overnight guests will now be permitted, as will approved parties from November 1st.”

Trinity News have reached out to TCDSU for comment.
