Man arrested in Trinity library after abusing students

The man was arrested for public order offenses

A young man was arrested in a Trinity library this afternoon after being abusive towards students.

The incident occurred at approximately 4pm this afternoon. According to the Garda Press Office, a young man in his 20s was removed by security guards three times for being abusive to students. The gardaí were called and told the man to leave the library. He returned and the gardaí arrested him for public order offenses.

The man was then taken to Pearse Street Garda station. It is currently unclear if the young man was a student. College had not responded to a request for comment at the time of publication. Gardaí investigations are ongoing.
