WEEKLY ROUNDUP: JobBridge intern wanted to make signs

Hundreds of Irish companies advertise for JobBridge interns every week. The programme can last for up to 9 months, during which full-time interns receive €50 a week on top of their social welfare payments. That works out at €3.75 an hour if the intern is under the age of 25.

In a new series, Trinity News will feature a sample of internships that are posted in the JobBridge database every week. Some of the host organisations are large companies, some are educational institutions, others are small businesses and non-profits. The one thing they have in common is that none of them want to pay their interns a living wage.

1. DRAUGHTSPERSON

This company says its intern will  receive training in Excel and Word. Its ideal candidate will be a qualified engineer or technician with knowledge of…Excel and Word.

2. UCD Administrative Assistant

UCD needs an intern to book lecture rooms and multi-task with “strict time constraints”.
